Machine polishing is not included in coating-only packages. Starting prices are for standard passenger vehicles; final pricing confirmed after inspection.

A proper ceramic installation is a multi-day craft. Here is exactly what happens to your vehicle in our Gambrills studio — the same process we use for clients from Annapolis to Bowie and across Anne Arundel County.
Decontamination Wash
A chemical and mechanical decontamination wash strips embedded iron, tar, and road grime so the coating bonds to bare clear coat.
Paint Assessment
We measure clear-coat thickness with a gauge and inspect under directed lighting to map swirls, scratches, and oxidation.
Paint Correction
Multi-stage machine polishing levels the clear coat, removing defects and restoring depth and clarity before coating.
Coating Application
SiO2 is applied panel-by-panel, leveled, and flashed. Curing takes 24–48 hours; full hardness develops over several weeks.

What does ceramic coating do?
Ceramic coating creates a hydrophobic, glossy protective layer over your vehicle's paint that helps repel water, contaminants, pollen, and environmental fallout while making the vehicle easier to wash and maintain.
What does ceramic coating NOT do?
Ceramic coating is not a substitute for paint protection film and does not prevent rock chips or deep scratches. It is a surface protection and gloss enhancement, not an impact barrier.
Is ceramic coating good for Maryland vehicles?

Our lineup ranges from a 1-year coating (QCD Shield) and a 2-year warranty (System X Crystal) up to a 6-year warranty (System X Pro), a lifetime warranty (System X Max), and our flagship lifetime System X Phantom package. Longevity depends on the coating formula and how closely the recommended maintenance schedule is followed.
How long does the installation take?
A proper ceramic installation is a multi-day process. Expect 2 to 4 days depending on vehicle size and the amount of paint correction required before the coating is applied.
Does ceramic coating come with a warranty?
Yes. Our System X Crystal (2-year), Pro (6-year), Max (lifetime), and Phantom (lifetime) packages include manufacturer-backed warranties covering hydrophobic performance and gloss retention for the stated term, provided the annual inspection and recommended maintenance are completed. QCD Shield carries a 1-year coating with no manufacturer warranty.
